SEO vs Paid Advertising

SEO vs Paid Advertising

The jury is still out on the technique that provides a higher value between SEO and PPC, i.e. Adwords. The definitive answer is that it depends on the metrics you are using to gauge success. SEO is used to increase the ranking of a website on search engines while Adwords is Pay per Click advertisements that requires a person or business to pay for every click on their ad. Here are a few insights on the two methods:

Price

If money is an issue, SEO can be done free of charge as you only need to know the SEO strategies that work for your website and execute it. But large organizations require professional SEO services which help to keep them at the top of search engine results. On the other hand, Adwords may be more expensive as you need to pay for every click your ad receives. But this is cheaper than what businesses pay for conventional adverts.

Speed

If you need fast results, Adwords is the way to go. This is because Adwords lets you target specific demographics. SEO only increases your site's visibility over time, but the target audience will have to search for it by themselves.

Number of Leads

If your concern is the number of leads, SEO and Adwords provide different results. Adwords can provide leads instantly, but it will only last for as long as the Ads campaign. After that, you leads start to drop. SEO is usually slow to provide leads, but in the long run, provide more leads than Adwords. With this, you will realize they both produce similar results but in different ways and magnitude. The strategy you go for depends on the type of results you need and the time frame within which you want to see those results.
